Motherhood

I am your mother not because you were born of me,
But because I was reborn through you.

While the poem was written with my daughter in mind, the watercolour was created for and sent to my mother on 21 March 2020, Mother’s Day in the Arab world, in lieu of the bouquet I would have given her had we been together.
